There's something about pushing words round – whether it's teasing out my inner world or falling into someone else's. My writing CV started with an interview with my steel-guitar teacher, Jim Jensen, for an academic research piece on the Hawaiian music scene in Australia (1920–55) with Rebecca Coyle for Macquarie Uni's Perfect Beat magazine read story (.pdf 2.12mb). Two years and 30.000 words later we had more story than we bargained for.
